The QCHA is pleased to announce the following travel team head coaches for the 2017-18 season.  Head coaches for the PeeWee and Squirt Travel teams respectively are Darren McMillan and Zach Honert.

Darren has extensive playing experience competing at the professional level for 11 seasons.  Most recently Darren played for the Quad City Mallards from 2010 – 2016 serving as team captain for several seasons.  As professional hockey time demands allowed, he served as an assistant coach for various travel teams in the QCHA since the 2013-14 season.  Last year having retired from professional play Darren was a full-time assistant for the Squirt travel team.

Zach Honert grew up in the Quad City hockey program playing for the Ice Eagles, the Blues and then the Jr. Flames before playing NCAA Division I club hockey.  He has been a long-time assistant coach and administrator in the QCHA serving a thorough and all-encompassing variety of roles including House League Director.

Both men have extensive experience within and passion for the game of hockey.  We look forward to their leadership of our PeeWee and Squirt travel teams.
