Open 2024 QCHA Board Positions & Job Descriptions

 
The following positions will be open for upcoming Board elections on March 4th.

  • Vice President
  • Secretary
  • Director Travel League
  • Director at Large - Girls Hockey & QCHA Recruiting 
  • Director at Large - Volunteerism 
  • Director at Large - Community Engagement

 
The job description for each position and the approximate amount of time spent for each position is listed below.  Please refer to the bylaws for more information about each position and the voting process.  If you wish to submit your name for one of these positions, the deadline to submit your name and a bio is February 23rd at midnight to the election official at phil.harms52722@gmail.com. 
 
Elections will be held at the River's Edge on March 4th.

Job Descriptions

 

Vice President (25-40 hours per month)
Responsible for SafeSport compliance including investigations and discipline, attends MWAHA June meeting, updates and maintains bylaws, acts as liaison in instances of legal/insurance matters, oversees consent to screen program, and ensures overall compliance.  Requires between 25-40 hours
per month based on the unpredictable nature of disciplinary issues.  

 
Secretary (5 hours per month)

The Secretary shall record the minutes of the meetings of the Board of Directors, see that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of the By-laws or as required by law; be custodian of the corporate records; perform all duties incident to the office of the Secretary and such
other duties as from time to time may be assigned to the Secretary by the President or by the Board of Directors, including disseminating important information to the membership concerning time, dates, and places of meetings, etc. Secretary will also work with website person to get information posted. Secretary will be in charge of keeping bylaws up-to-date and keep electronic files updated.
 
Director of Travel League (15-40 hours per month)
Responsible for general management of the travel programs including but not limited to formation and adherence to Travel Team Policies; selection of travel team coaches according to Board approved guidelines; and to serve as QCHA representative to the hockey leagues in which the QCHA teams
play.
 
Director of Girls Hockey & QCHA Recruiting (​​​15-40 hours per month)
Responsible for all aspects of the QCHA Girls Programming. Point of main contact for the QCHA Girls Travel teams’ head coaches. Periodically communicates with other girls’ teams inside and outside the affiliate to foster a spirit of cooperation and collaboration in order to grow girls hockey. Work
with other board members to implement recruiting ideas in support of organizational growth.
 
Director at Large - Community Engagement (40 hours per month)
Responsible for the communication between the River’s Edge Staff, Storm Staff and QCHA, handling of championship banners, approve team fundraisers, create and post fliers for QCHA events (including Blues, Lady Blues and Ice Eagles), coordinate with local school districts on inclusion of QCHA event fliers in virtual backpacks, photograph QCHA events, monitor and create QCHA Facebook posts, organize parade participation, organize driveway painting fundraiser, maintains signups for both the Future Storm and the Future Blues and coordinates the distribution of the USA Hockey patches to Select and Travel teams at the end of season and other items as they arise.

 
Director at Large – Volunteerism (10-15 hours per month)
Responsible for coordinating volunteers for all QCHA events; Golf outing, Storm 50/50, Try Hockey for Free, etc.  Works with the Registrar to ensure that all volunteers have completed all volunteer requirements.  Coordinates the QCHA team and individual pictures each season.
