The Quad City Blues Hockey Club is excited to announce the hiring of Doug Dietz as the Head Coach. Doug is a native of Waterloo, Iowa, where he played hockey for the Waterloo Black Hawks in the USHL. Doug continued his hockey journey to the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point where he played on the 1989 NCAA Division III National Championship team. After college he spent time in Europe playing professionally for 2 years and continues to give back to the hockey community through his coaching and player development. He has coached in the USHL, Tier 1, and High School levels and currently is the Central District Coach in Chief, as well as the MWAHA and Central District Player Development Director. For more than a decade, Coach Dietz has been involved with the USA Hockey National Development Team and was recently in Buffalo, New York to help with the selection of the U17 team that will compete next month at the 5 Nations Tournament in Slovakia.
Outside of hockey, Doug enjoys playing golf and hunting.
