Travel Teams Active - Continue Games Locally and in NIHL

December 4, 2017

Around a rejuvenating Thanksgiving weekend, the QCHA Ice Eagles travel teams have been very active and continue to advance in their skill and team play.  All teams are now underway in their Northern Illinois Hockey League regular seasons and at the same time have had contests with traditional Midwest Amateur Hockey Association opponents.

The Bantam travel team currently sits in first place in the competitive NIHL Silver-Tier 2 division with five victories and a tie coming to 11 points.  Though suffering their first two NIHL setbacks of the season, the Ice Eagles bounced back with a strong 6-1 victory over Sabres4.  The Bantam travel team hosts the Rockford Roadrunners on Saturday in back-to-back games Saturday, December 9 at 12:30 and 1:45 at the Rivers Edge rink.

The PeeWee travel team got off to a strong and positive start in the NIHL SilverA-Tier 2 division with victories on Saturday and Sunday.  The PW Ice Eagles got out of the gate fast with a dominating 8-0 victory over the Chicago Fury1.  On Sunday, the Ice Eagles battled back from an 0-2 deficit to win a hard-fought game against the Midwest Blackbirds2.  This weekend PW Travel heads up to Dubuque1 for a double-header on Saturday at 10:30am and 1:30pm.  Prior to Thanksgiving PW Travel tied (2-2) then won a tight 3-2 contest.  On Sunday, the PW Ice Eagles host the Midwest Blackbirds2 in a rematch at the Rivers Edge at 12:00 noon.

This past weekend the Squirt travel team hit the road and split a double-header at Iowa City on Saturday night.  The Ice Eagles then showed great determination in a challenging game the next day at Peoria1 falling 5-4.  On Sunday, December 10 the Squirt Ice Eagles are back on the road with a contest at the Chicago Stallions2.

You are encouraged to come out and support your Ice Eagles travel teams this weekend.
