The Quad City Sled Hockey Association is a not-for profit that has been in the QC's for the past 20+ years. Sled Hockey is a co-ed, multi-age, inclusive sport that is played by persons with and without a disability. Players sit in a cushioned seat mounted on a tubular frame. Velcro straps secure the player to the sled. Players use two hockey sticks. The blade end is used to pass the puck and the other end has a toe-pick used to grip the ice for turning and moving. "Buddies", who can skate behind and push the sled, are provided for players who want additional assistance.
All players, coaches and volunteers need to register with USA Hockey before they will be allowed on the ice. There is a $56 USAH Membership fee for the coaches and players. (If you are a first time participant or a volunteer under the age of 18, please email the Registrar and we can get the first year's fee waived.) All other volunteers will register with USAH for free. Volunteers and coaches will also need to complete a Background Check and the SafeSport online training. The links can be found below.
