BECOME A STUDENT COACH

Student Coaches are vital to the growth of our association.  A student coach is any current QCHA player between the ages of 13-17 that is interested in helping younger players learn the game and skills of hockey.  There will be events throughout the season where you can sign up as a volunteer to help.

  • One Goal & Learn to Play beginning hockey sessions happen four times per year
  • Try Hockey for Free events are 2-3 times a year
  • Student coaches are allowed to help with specific team or house league practices as long as they are coaching  players at least 1 age group younger than the student coach's age group.  (ie. A Bantam Student coach may help on the ice with any age group younger than Bantam.)  The head coach must approve all student coaches before they get on the ice to help.

How Do I Become a SC?

  • Print and fill out the Student Coach form below
  • A parent and head coach must sign the form
  • Email the form to Michelle Arndt at Registrar@quadcityhockey.com or leave at the front desk attn: Michelle Arndt (but please email Michelle to let her know it's there)
  • After the new season begins the student coaches will be added to a special group in Sports Engine.  We will use this group as a way of communication with the student coaches that have filled out a form.   Once the student coach is added to this group, you should see a group in your Sports Engine app called "Student Coach" that's separate from any house league or team.
