Parent/Guardian

Parent/Guardian Volunteer - Age 18 and Older

To be a volunteer for the QCHA, ALL volunteers must complete the following:  (Click on the blue headings below for the links to complete each requirement)  These volunteers are not allowed to help on the ice or on the bench for any reason.  If you plan to do that, you will need to complete the coaching requirements which can be found here.

  • USA Hockey Volunteer Registration, this is free for volunteers and must be done every year.  You will need to send the confirmation number you receive to Registrar@quadcityhockey.com.  You will not be added to the volunteer list until the Registrar has this confirmation number.

  • Safe Sport Training, online training that's found on the USAH website.  The US Olympic Committee has added and revised the initial Safe Sport training video.  Volunteers and Coaches need to take this training every year.

  • Background Screening, $30; completed every 2 years.  The following volunteer positions are required to get a background screening for the QCHA;

  • Board Member,
  • Coach,
  • Team Manager, 
  • Locker Room Monitor,
  • Off-Ice Trainer,
  • Team Doctor/Nurse and
  • any other position that requires direct interaction with any of our youth players.

Spring Clinic Locker Room Monitors

  • Must complete a 23/24 OR 24/25 USA Hockey volunteer membership and send the confirmation number to the registrar at registrar@quadcityhockey.com
  • Complete SafeSport Training
  • Complete Background Screening
  • Be at the rink 45 minutes before ice time and stay after practice until all players are out of the locker room and be within arm's length distance from locker room door

Summer Hockey Locker Room Monitors

  • Complete a 24/25 USA Hockey volunteer membership and send the confirmation number to the registrar at registrar@quadcityhockey.com
  • Complete SafeSport Training
  • Complete Background Screening

Coaches

QCHA needs many coaches at all levels to help our players on the ice throughout the season.  If interested, there are requirements that need to be completed before you can be on the ice with our players.  For more information click here.

  • 2024-25 USA Hockey Coach Membership
  • Background Screening (every two years)
  • SafeSport Online Training (every 12 months)
  • Coach's Code of Conduct (every year)
  • Coaching Module for every age group you're on the ice with
  • Coaching Clinic 

Try Hockey for Free

This free event is for kids ages 4-17 to come out on the ice in a safe environment to try hockey.   We need lots of volunteers to help make this a success.  Some of the positions needing to be filled by volunteers are as follows:

  • Coaches
  • Student Coaches
  • DJ (all music must be age appropriate and have no swear words)
  • Photographer
  • Registration Table
  • Helmet Fitting
  • Set Up/Tear Down
  • Goodie Bags - Fill and hand out
  • Jersey Fitting (if needed)
  • Taping Sticks (if needed)
  • Greeter

SELL 50/50 TICKETS AT THE STORM GAME 2024-25 Season

Help at the QCHA table at the Storm game to sell 50/50 tickets.  Arrive an hour and half before game time and sell tickets through the beginning of the 3rd period when the winner is announced.  Tickets to get into the Storm game are free for a limited amount of volunteers.  Please check with your team manager or with the Volunteer Director for openings.
